Guards Turning Over the Flag of Liberia

Zoweinta, Bong County - February 24, 2025

The Security Expert Guard Agency of Liberia (SEGAL) has successfully trained and certificated over Three Hundred, Thirty-Eight (328) security personnel following the completion of its 8th Vital Installation Training (VIT) Program. This rigorous month-long training, conducted by the Liberia National Police Academy & Training School (LNPATS) in Zoweinta, Bong County, focused on Physical Security Protection, First Aid, Human Rights Awareness, Crowd Control, and other critical security measures aimed at safeguarding ArcelorMittal Liberia’s (AML) Rail Line and key operational areas.

 

The certification ceremony was graced by SEGAL’s key representatives, including community leaders, stipendiary Magistrate, ArcelorMittal Liberia Security Department, Bong County Police Commander, Mr. Samuel T. M. Benson, Sr. Project Manager, SEGAL/AML Operations, and Mr. Abraham Delleh Wala, Administrative Assistant & Acting Human Resource Officer.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Wala commended the officers for their discipline and commitment throughout the training, while extending appreciation to the Liberia National Police for their expertise in shaping the security personnel. He reaffirmed SEGAL’s dedication to ensuring the safety of lives and properties across Liberia. Also, Mr. Zest Massalay, AML’s Head of Security, urged the graduates to apply their newly acquired skills with professionalism, highlighting that their responsibility goes beyond infrastructure protection—it also contributes to a safer and more secure working environment. Addressing the graduates, Magistrate Sekou Trawally emphasized the importance of proactive security strategies, noting that prevention is just as crucial as response in tackling security challenges.

 

Bong County Police Commander, Fasu Sheriff, acknowledged SEGAL’s milestone achievement as the first private security firm in the region to undergo formal training at the LNP Academy. He noted that this initiative will enhance security operations, particularly in areas where law enforcement presence is minimal. He stressed need for the erection of a police station in Zoweinta City to assist the community, AML and SEGAL in curtailing crimes.  The certification event attracted community leaders, law enforcement officials, and key stakeholders from Bong and Nimba Counties, all recognizing SEGAL’s continuous efforts to raise security standards in Liberia. As one of Liberia’s premier private security firms, We remain committed to professional development and equipping its personnel with advanced security training to tackle evolving threats. This latest certification—the agency’s eighth—further solidifies SEGAL’s role as a leader in safeguarding critical infrastructure and supporting national security.
